Business Live is back with a bang in Milton Keynes

Posted 5th February 2017

Scores of businesses have welcomed the return of a Milton Keynes networking brand.

Business Live returned after a year-long hiatus when brand owner Victoria Beale was asked by her clients to revamp it and bring it back to the city’s business scene.

Victoria said: “In a place like Milton Keynes, where networking groups are almost ten a penny, to have clients calling for the return of Business Live is a remarkable testimony.

“In business, if your clients ask you for something then you should listen to it! We were supported beyond my wildest dreams and Business Live is definitely back with a bang!”

The relaunch meeting at the Red Dot Bar at stadium MK on January 27 heard from Lance Haggith of Newport Pagnell-based Sports Trader.

Bedford resident Lance, the winner of the BBC 2010 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero award, has a series of shops in the region but is looking for a base in the city.

“We have a drop off area at The Point but we are looking for another shop,” said Lance.

Sports Trader uses money raised at its shops to fund projects like getting wheelchairs for Stony Stratford Tennis Club.

The networking meeting, called Business Live Corporate, saw company leaders sit down to a meal and introduce themselves to others with the aim of finding potential clients.

Brian Kingston, of communications company dbfb, told attendees about the CityFibre ultra-fast fibre broadband network currently revolutionising connectivity in MK.

Mr Kingston said: “The growth achievements of Milton Keynes have been achieved despite having the third worst internet speeds in the UK.

“Just think what business in the city could do with internet speeds of 1,000 mega-bits per second.”

Business Live – Corporate is held monthly, 12pm till 2pm, normally on the last Friday of every month. For more information visit http://businessliveuk.uk/ events/
