Emmanuel Filson, former Milton Keynes College Student and Tokyo 2020 hopeful, has been awarded a cheque for £2,000 from Milton Keynes Sporting Lunch Club, as part of its funding for SportsAid.

The Wheelchair Basketball Athlete, who was a London 2012 Paralympic Flag bearer, was presented the cheque by Jeff Probyn, former England Rugby Union player, and Jane Horridge, Commercial Director at MK College, at the MK Sporting Lunch on Friday 3 March.

The lunch club raises money for the national charity for sport, which works with sports governing bodies to support more than 2,000 talented young sports people each year.

Jane Horridge was thrilled to present the funding to the former MK College student and explained: “I was very proud to hear of the fantastic achievements of one of our former students, and of his ambitions for sporting success in the future. I hope that the money from SportsAid will provide a boost to his training and help Emmanuel to achieve his ultimate target of getting to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.”
