Get creative with the #MK50 Tea Towel Challenge

Posted 20th September 2017

A tea towel t-shirt? Or maybe MK’s very own tea towel cow? The MK50 team want to see if you can take on the tea towel challenge!

Inspired by the creativity of our team, who have already created a scarf, a cape and a jacket, we are opening up the challenge to the public.

The challenge is for everyone, no matter how good your sewing skills are. It’s a fun project for scout and brownies groups, something creative for the kids to do on a rainy day or an unusual way to socialise with your friends. We want to see what the people of MK can do… with just three tea towels (other materials accepted – we’re not that mean).

All you have to do to is visit the MK50 website at http://www.mk50.co.uk/get-involved/new-opportunities, complete and return the tea towel request form, then we’ll send you some MK50 tea towels. They’re not for keeping in the kitchen though. Once gifted with the tea towels, it is your sworn duty to either make a piece of clothing or magic up a 3D object. When you’re happy with your creation and have smugly shown it off to friends and family, just send us an image with the submission form and you’ll be entered in to the competition.

There will be 10 winners who will receive a copy of Gill Prince’s Unexpected MK book and see their prized objects displayed at the MK50 showcase to be held early next year. Closing date is 27 October – good luck!
