Posted 11th April 2018

The Parks Trust, the self-financing charity that manages and maintains over 6,000 acres of green space across Milton Keynes, is launching two new regular walks from this month.

Discovery Strolls will be held on the third Tuesday of every month, starting from Tuesday 17th April at Great Linford Manor Park at 2pm.

Taking place at different locations across the city including Caldecotte Lake and Wolverton Mill, these will be short walks with plenty of stops and toilet facilities available on site.

The Discovery Strolls will be suitable for people of all ages and abilities. They will be dementia, autism and ADHD friendly, with everyone welcome. These walks are free to join and booking is not required.

In addition, The Parks Trust is launching Woof Walks. These will be monthly walks for dog owners and their canine companions held on a Saturday, with the first walk taking place on Saturday 14th April at Stanton Low at 10am.

Led by a Parks Trust ranger, owners will be guided through parks including Tattenhoe Valley and Caldecotte Lake. Tickets for these walks should be booked online in advance, at a cost of £1 per dog.

Julie Dawes, Events & Community Engagement Manager, commented: “We organise hundreds of events across the city’s parkland every year and some of the most popular of these are our guided walks. We wanted to open these to a wider audience so have decided to launch two new regular walks; Discovery Strolls and Woof Walks.

“We hope these will encourage even more people to get outside and explore our beautiful green space, whether they are regularly active or simply want to try something new.”
