Autumn at Green Dragon Eco Farm

We have 45 acres of gently rolling countryside laid out as paddocks, meadows and trails for visitors to stretch their legs, take in the view or just relax amongst our natural environment as we go into Autumn here at Green Dragon. This year we’ll be celebrating all things ‘apple’ on our third Apple Day since we opened and launching our new Outreach Programme for groups, schools and parties, as well as our new tailor-made exclusive encounters for visitors.
Apple Day – Saturday 7th October 2017, 11am to 4pm
Apple Day is a fun day out for all ages with free entry.
Local expert, Andy Howard of the Heritage Fruit Company, will be talking about Heritage Apples and identifying the variety of any apples brought in by visitors. Local Little Horwood Community Orchard will be pressing apples from 11am to 3pm. Visitors are welcome to bring their own apples or can pick apples from our orchard to be converted to juice.
Heritage apple trees will be on sale as well as home produce and there’ll be a delicious apple-themed menu in the Eco Centre. There’ll be fun activities for all the family, including an art competition with local schools taking part. We’ll also be joined by RSPB and BBOWT.
Apple Day takes place in the Eco Centre, Messy Play Barn (entry from the car park) and orchard. The Eco Farm is open as usual – 10am to 5.30pm – Adults £8, Child £7.

Outreach – our Green Dragon Roadshow!
We can bring all the fun of the farm ‘to your door’, whether it’s for a party, school or group, to enjoy an exclusive encounter with our friendly pets and poultry – from the cold-blooded to the feathery and furry! These sessions are exclusively designed according to the group’s requirements and are led by one of our knowledgeable livestock team. Our staff like to create a friendly and fun atmosphere for everyone to enjoy!

New – Tailor-made exclusive encounters – for those special occasions!
These hands-on experiences are on the farm, in the company of one of our trained livestock team. For children or adults, our special encounters are tailor-made according to the visitor’s requirements. Depending on age, some children will need to be accompanied by an adult. Prices vary depending on the encounter and include the rest of the day at Green Dragon with refreshments.
