Become a friend of Milton Keynes Museum and help make history

Milton Keynes Museum is calling on its supporters to sign up and become friends of the history hub.

The new initiative is part of a fundraising drive to enable the museum to fit out its wonderful new galleries, as part of an extensive £7.5m expansion project. The two spaces will tell the complete history of Milton Keynes, from pre-historic times through to the present day.

“Our supporters are the lifeblood of the museum,” director Bill Griffiths said.

“The museum was founded by Milton Keynes people who wanted to preserve their heritage.

“Support has flourished and we are thrilled that our visitor numbers have more than doubled in the past five years.

“Our army of volunteers, fundraisers and visitors have enabled us to turn a passionate idea into a remarkable vision, and the new galleries will give Milton Keynes an attraction that will stand tall nationally.

Funds raised will also help to improve experiences for all visitors. Future plans include an expanded education programme, extending the Granary cafe and disabled access.

Friends of Milton Keynes Museum will receive unlimited museum access throughout the year, invitations to an expert lecture series, priority bookings for special events, regular e-newsletters, gift shop discounts and a ‘friends of the museum’ pin badge.

Friends can sign up at the museum or by calling 01908 316222 during office hours.
