Donate a gift for a patient in hospital this Christmas

Posted 8th November 2020

Christmas in hospital is going to be even more lonely this year with COVID restrictions in place.  You can help Northamptonshire Health Charity make a difference and bring a smile to patients by donating to the Christmas Gifts appeal, helping to ensure every patient receives a gift on Christmas Day.

The charity works all year round providing for all departments and wards at Northampton General Hospital and the community and mental health hospitals in the county, above and beyond what the NHS provides.

Thanks to overwhelming support during the pandemic, there have been some fantastic enhancements to patient care and experience as well as lots of support for NHS staff wellbeing. Now that Christmas is fast approaching, the charity would like to ensure every patient in hospital on the day receives a present. There are many, mostly elderly, that have nobody – meaning no visitors and no gift. This year, with the pandemic affecting us and visiting restrictions that might still be in place, receiving a gift on Christmas Day will make even more of a difference to every patient.

It’s understandable Christmas shopping will be affected by COVID19 so shopping locally where possible is always good but if you’d prefer to shop online, there is an Amazon Wish List: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/31PEFL8LFNRT3.  Alternatively, you can make a donation and a gift will be purchased for you.

If you’d like to donate items, they can be dropped in at the charity office at Springfield, Cliftonville, Northampton, NN1 5BE, Monday to Friday 9-4PM.
