Mayor of Milton Keynes sees The Sorcerer go with a BANG!

The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Sam Crooks, joined the cast of ‘The Sorcerer’ at Stantonbury Theatre on 20th July. Staged by local group Wolverton Gilbert & Sullivan Society, the production, with its 1940’s war time theme, proved very popular with audiences and provided great enjoyment.

Councillor Crooks met with some of the principals from the show: Robert Kendrick (playing Alexis), Catherine Lee (playing Aline), Mike Crofts (Musical Director) and Graham Mitchell (the acting Chair of the Society).

The Mayor said: “I had taken part myself in The Sorcerer and this had brought back many happy memories of the music and story. This was a well-received and immensely enjoyable production from one of our local, well-established groups, Wolverton G&S. The production was received with laughter and applause throughout ”.

Wolverton Gilbert & Sullivan Society’s next production is ‘Calamity Jane’ which takes place on Wednesday 25 July to Saturday 28 July 2020. There will be prices for adults, full time students, unwaged and anyone aged 60 +, and for children (under 14s).
