More postcodes added to Willen Hospice Christmas Tree Collection

Posted 23rd December 2020

Willen Hospice will be offering their popular tree collection and recycling scheme to even more postcodes this year.

The fundraising initiative was a great success in 2020, raising just over £8,000 for the Hospice.

Residents living in postcodes MK1 – MK16, MK19 and MK46 can book to have their Christmas tree collected up until midday on the 31 December. Collections will take place 2 – 4 January 2020, by a friendly army of volunteers and their vans.

To ensure the collection scheme is COVID secure, volunteer van drivers will be from the same household or existing work bubble, and collections will be contactless. The Hospice are asking anyone who has a booking to leave their undressed trees outside their property from 8am on the first day of collection.

Nikki Poole, Community Fundraising, said “We are delighted to be able to continue with our Christmas tree-cycling service this year.

It’s been a really tough year for us, with our usual fundraising activities cancelled or postponed, so this is a great way to support the Hospice, as well as giving you one less thing to worry.”

A donation is welcome when booking, as the charity do not receive any money from recycling the trees. All money raised will directly support the Hospice, to help them provide free, compassionate care to local patients and their families.
