Nursery expansion nurtures a real passion for learning
Posted 11th June 2024Parents looking for a first class education provision where their children can thrive can now reserve a space at the newly-opened Pre-reception room at The Webber Independent School.
The doors to the new pre-reception room have officially opened, a welcome expansion of the Independent School’s services which have been awarded an ‘excellent’ grade in all areas. The new space, designed for children preparing for their transition to ‘Big School’ is a welcomed addition to the The Webber Nursery for children from six months old to four years.
The whole Nursery features government-funded spots and will have spaces for an additional 24 children. The School in North Milton Keynes, is already popular with families living in the area, and this new room will inspire a love for learning in the littlest of learners. The expansion includes new resources crafted from natural materials including wood. This is yet another step to supports the Nursery’s move away from single-use plastics in line with the School’s Green Priority
Headmistress Mrs Hilary Marsden said: “At Webber, we aim to instil a lifelong love of learning within each and every one of our students, from Nursery to Year 11. The Webber Nursery has always offered educational experience through enriched learning and development play which lends itself to a seamless transition to ‘Big School’ allowing children to reach their full potential.
We are very excited about this expansion which will get children off to a flying start on their life long journey to success.”
The Nursery on the edge of Linford Wood offers a rich environment for inquisitive children. The Nursery grounds include an eco-garden where seasonal crops are put to good use by the onsite chef and the team. Webber Honey is gathered from the bee hive and the children make regular expeditions to the woods for ecology sessions.
The Government has recently announced eligible working parents of two-year-old can now access 15 hours of funded early education and childcare. This will usually run over 38 weeks a year and there is a stretched offer of eleven hours per week over 51 weeks. Children are encouraged to discover their passion for learning with the Nursery’s nurtured learning environment. The ‘home from home’ atmosphere ensures children to be happy, content and eager to learn.
Newly-appointed Nursery Manager Lana Race, has over 15 years’ experience in the Early Years Sector, both managing and establishing new provisions.
She said: “I am passionate in ensuring children are supported, challenged and flourish during their time at Nursery, maintaining high standards of care and teaching across the board. I am looking forward to meeting the children and families as well as working with our established nursery staff, growing the Nursery from strength to strength.”
