Public tree planting at Marston Vale

Posted 1st February 2017

Be a part of the creation of the Forest of Marston Vale and get involved in our Public Tree Planting in Cranfield on Sunday 12 February.

As a charity, we have already planted one million trees in the Forest of Marston Vale but we need your help to plant another 5 million! Planting a tree sounds energetic but doesn’t have to be – the trees we plant are very small so it only takes a few minutes to plant one (and you can plant as many as you like).

We’ll be on hand giving you instructions so don’t worry if you’ve never planted a tree before – we provide everything you need, from the trees and tools to the toilets and cups of tea; all you need to bring is a sprinkle of enthusiasm. Planting days are open to all-comers, whatever their age or ability, but as it is winter and access can be rough and wet, make sure that you wear warm, comfortable clothing and if you have any concerns about your individual requirements, give us a ring beforehand. Free buses will be running between 10.45am and 2.15pm, from the Forest Centre in Marston Moretaine directly to the site – please note that there is absolutely no parking on site. Any money spent in the Forest Centre goes towards helping us to keep the Forest growing and thriving, so why not kick off your day with a Mega Breakfast in the Lakeside Café?

Our woodlands across the Forest of Marston Vale are all open to the public, so if you plant or Dedicate a tree it’s easy to return to enjoy the incredible change, from field to woodland – why not mark a special occasion (like Valentine’s Day) by dedicating a tree at Waypost Wood for a loved one, and bring them out to plant it with you?
