Students at The Webber Independent School have shown that their dedication and hard work has resulted in excellent results, with particular success in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths.  With students securing places at top UK universities to study a number of Science, Technology and Business related degrees.

Sophie Fretwell was elated with her confirmed place at Imperial College London, one of the world’s top universities. “I am so delighted with my results and securing my first choice university. I am off to study Molecular Bioengineering and I can’t wait to start my degree at such a prestigious university. I’ve really appreciated the personalised style of tuition at The Webber Independent Sixth Form, and I want to say a big thank you to all of my tutors who have worked with me and supported me.”

Mrs Fretwell, said: “I am over the moon for both of my children, Sophie and Matthew. Matthew secured an unconditional offer to study Computer Science at Coventry and Sophie is off to Imperial – I am so proud and I cannot thank the staff at Webber enough.”

Gary Meadows, who has been with The Webber Independent School since he was three, also secured an unconditional offer at his first choice university. “Wow, I can’t quite believe that I am off to Hull to study Chemical Engineering! I’ve had such an amazing time growing as an individual at Webber, and I am so pleased with how far I’ve come. I would like to thank all of the staff at Webber, and my parents, for their support and guidance – it has been invaluable in helping me find what I wanted from my future.”

Mrs Meadows jokingly said: “Gary can’t leave, he will be back,” she continued “I am so proud of Gary and the young man he has become, he has done incredibly well and I am really happy for him. The staff at Webber have been a big part of both our lives and I can’t thank them enough for all their time and support – we will miss them.”

Speaking about the School’s performance, Headmistress, Hilary Marsden said:

“I am so proud of all of our students’ performance and couldn’t be happier that 100% of our students secured their first choice university, with many going on to study degrees in STEAM related subjects. This year we’ve seen an increase in students choosing to study in the fields of Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business and Arts.

“It is rewarding to see our students’ hard work and dedication pay off. I want to say a big heart-felt congratulations to all of our A Level students and I wish them every success in their future study and career paths. We look forward to hearing all of their first term university stories when they return to share their experiences and advice with our new Year 13 students.”
