What is crowdfunding? A seminar for business leaders

Posted 13th January 2017

Business leaders in Milton Keynes are being invited to a free seminar on the new way to fund business growth. Corporate finance broker, Business Finance Services Ltd, has enlisted the support of representatives from leading UK Crowdfunding platforms ThinCats, Crowdcube and Archover to take part in an instructional seminar at The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at The Stadium MK home of the MK Dons, on the afternoon of Thursday 2nd March 2017.

BFS managing director, Peter Douglas, said: “Since the recession, banks have, understandably become more risk averse, which leaves a large gap in the marketplace for small and medium-sized businesses seeking finance for start-up, growth and acquisition. Crowdfunding – essentially, groups of investors getting together via Internet platforms to invest collectively in specific business opportunities – goes a long way towards plugging this gap. The problem is that many people have heard of Crowdfunding but not that many know how it works and how it can benefit the SME (small business) as well as the Investor. The seminar will be a great opportunity for both investors and borrowers to learn how it can benefit themselves and their clients!”

He continued, “We are very pleased to have three of the UK’s leading crowdfunding platforms presenting with us. This will be a very informative session at a great venue.”

There will also be excellent opportunities for networking both with representatives of the Crowdfunding Platforms as well as with other local senior business decision-makers. Anybody interested in attending can register through the Business Finance Services website: www.bufinserv.co.uk
