If you’re wondering how to keep the children entertained this summer without spending a fortune, Unity Place might just have the answer.
The Milton Keynes destination has unveiled a packed programme of family-friendly activities throughout August, featuring free photography workshops, a family film screening and a range of creative experiences designed to help families make the most of the school holidays.
Leading the line-up is a series of free photography workshops, delivered in partnership with Pixel Affiliate, on 11, 18 and 25 August. Aimed at children and teenagers aged eight to 17, the one-hour sessions will introduce budding photographers to the creative possibilities of photography through practical, hands-on activities.
Separate workshops for eight to 12-year-olds and 13 to 17-year-olds will ensure each session is tailored to the age group, making them ideal for complete beginners looking to try something new over the holidays.
Families can also enjoy a free screening of Hoppers on the big screen in the Urban Food Market on Monday 11 August from 11am. There’s no need to book – simply turn up, grab a seat and settle in for a relaxed morning together. Food and drink will also be available for anyone wanting to stay on for lunch afterwards.
For children who enjoy getting creative, Tiny Terra will be hosting drop-in terrarium building workshops on 4 and 20 August between 11.30am and 2.30pm in the Urban Food Market. With no booking required, youngsters can create their own miniature terrarium from just £5.
Unity Place is also making family mealtimes easier during the holidays with a dedicated children’s menu available throughout the summer. Young diners can choose from pizza and other child-friendly favourites, while adults can enjoy the Urban Food Market’s full range of food options.
And with the new school term just around the corner, ROK Barbers at Unity Place is offering boys’ and girls’ haircuts for children under 13 for £15 throughout the summer holidays.
