Get Set for Winter

Winter is on its way, and for anyone who loves the mountains, now is the time to start thinking about getting your ski kit sorted. With seven decades of ski experience, Ellis Brigham knows what it takes to get skiers properly equipped.  Their experts can help you navigate the wealth of technical clothing and equipment available, taking into account everything from where you ski and the conditions you’re likely to encounter, to your personal skiing style and what you want from your kit. From technical outerwear and insulating layers to helmets, goggles and the perfect pair of ski boots, having the right equipment can make all the difference to your time on the slopes.

Feet First

When it comes to skiing, your boots are arguably the most important piece of equipment you’ll own. They are the vital link between you and your skis, helping you control every turn, edge and movement. That’s why getting the right fit isn’t simply about comfort – it can make a real difference to your skiing experience.

And when it comes to ski boots, expert fitting is particularly important. The right boot can transform your comfort, control and confidence on the mountain — so it pays to have experienced staff helping you find the right fit. A custom fit with one of Ellis Brigham’s skilled boot fitters can be booked on-line here.

Testing Testing!

Every spring, a team of staff from Ellis Brigham stores around the country head to the slopes to test the following season’s new skis, including Alex from the Milton Keynes store.. For five days they try different models from top brands on varied terrain.  This year’s results can be found  in the Ellis Brigham ‘Best skis of 2026/2027’  It’s a good place to start your decision making process, but couple it with talking to staff at the Xscape store and even trying them on the slope there.  Try Before you Buy is a real bonus of the store being at the Xscape -centre – phone to organise a test pair from the demo pool.

Slope Style

Ellis Brigham’s new ski wear collection features styles and price points for all skiers, from those venturing out on their first ski holiday to dedicated enthusiasts who live, work and breathe ski.

As far as trends go, Dave Whitlow, Ellis Brigham’s ski fashion director says it’s an open house.  For piste to apres chic, female skiers can choose from elegant cropped puffy jackets in chic monochrome or jewel brights teamed with close-fitting stretch pants while the discerning male skier will be in sophisticated high-tech stretch fabrics in vibrant sporty hues or 007 black.  Highly technical GORE-TEX jackets and pants in poppy brights or military greens provide perfect protection on the steepest mountain terrain and in the deepest, lightest snow.  And young skiers and snowboarders can bring their streetwear fits to the mountains; think tucked-up technical jackets and baggy cargo pants.

From your first layer to your final piece of kit, Ellis Brigham offers more than a great range of premium ski clothing and equipment. You get the benefit of people who understand the mountains and know their kit.
