Posted 15th May 2019

The Parks Trust is busy preparing for Big Doggie Do, which will be held at Willen Lake over the bank holiday weekend, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May 2019.

This hugely popular free event will be over two days again for 2019; with dog shows, charity stalls and activities for all dog lovers to enjoy. Big Doggie Do will run from 12noon to 5pm each day – event days start with registration for the fun dog show, with different categories each day including; Best Golden Oldie, Most Appealing Eyes, Greatest Paw Shaker and Dog That Looks Most Like Their Owner. The dog show will be held in two parts; between 1pm – 2.30pm and 3.30pm – 5pm on both days.

K9 Aqua Sports were a massive hit last year and are back again for 2019! Bring along your four-legged friend to try out dock jumping which is becoming one of the fastest growing canine sports. Additionally, take a visit to the variety of charity stalls as well as the ‘have a go’ agility zone, a duck herding display will take place delivered by K9 Quackers and you can also enter your dog into the UK DDA dog frisbee competition – a first for Big Doggie Do.

Julie Dawes, Events and Community Engagement Manager for The Parks Trust, commented: “We are thrilled that Big Doggie Do is back for 2019. It is the largest event we hold that is dedicated for dog owners, and we are anticipating a great attendance from Milton Keynes’ residents and their canine companions; all of whom are very welcome. There is so much to do over the weekend and the dog show is sure to be a real highlight and we look forward to seeing the wide variety of dogs that will be entered. It’s really important to us that we engage as many people and community groups as possible through our varied events programme and dog owners are key users of our parkland. We hope they enjoy the event as much as we have enjoyed organising it. We’d like to thank our Big Doggie Do supporters Milton Keynes Veterinary Group and Handelsbanken without their support we couldn’t put on this amazing event.”
