Endless activities await at Willen Lake this summer

Posted 16th July 2024

Searching for a summer of fun? Willen Lake is waiting for you with endless activities to keep friends and family entertained all summer long.

Experience excitement

Sign the kids up for an exciting activity week this summer, where they will work towards a watersports qualification in either sailing or paddlesports. Kids aged 8-15 years old are invited for a week of watersports fun; learning and earning a recognised qualification in the process.

Flexible clubs are also available, including the Junior Paddlesports Club which costs just £10 for two hours of paddling practice on a Thursday evening. And on Sunday mornings the Sailing Club offers experienced sailors the chance to practice their skills.

Have an adventure

Embark on a new adventure with a range of taster sessions, choose from sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking or stay on land with a Discover Archery session. Discover sessions last 90-minutes and are ideal for beginners to learn the basic skills in their chosen activity. Suitable for adults and children aged 8+.

Willen Lake’s brand-new wildlife themed Adventure Golf is located by Treetop Extreme. On the 12-hole course, there are sculptures of local wildlife to spot and learn about. Play in a group of up to 6 people, with tickets from £6.50 each.

Find thrills

Thrill seekers can get their dose of adrenaline at Treetop Extreme, the home of Willen Lake’s high ropes course. After refurbishment this spring, the Explorer course is open for anyone aged 6+ and over 1.1 metres tall to take on the course and experience zipwires, tightropes and the thrilling 13-metre Treetop Drop.

Experience thrills on the water with Aqua Parcs’ inflatable obstacle course. The Extreme section is back for another year, featuring the Mammoth which towers over the course and offers giant slides and a 5-metre cliff jump into the lake.

Chill out

Seeking chills? Head to Splash ‘n’ Play to cool down in the summer sunshine. The outdoor splash park has over 60 unique water features and can even be booked out for Private Hire to have the ultimate summer party! General public sessions last 45 minutes and cost £6.50 per child (up to 13-years-old).

Find a relaxing spot at the café for a drink and a bite to eat. Sit out on the terrace and watch the action unfold on the lake whilst enjoying coffee, pastries and fresh snacks.

Make memories

Gather friends or family to head out onto the lake this summer with Boat Hire. Choose from pedalos, which seat up to four people, or try a kayak or paddleboard for more of a challenge. Boat Hire will be available from the Watersports Centre from 11am – 4pm on weekends and during the school holidays.

Or focus on making memories with a low-cost day out exploring the paths around the lake, with a pit stop to the Play Area where kids can climb, balance and slide for hours of fun.
