Make Easter egg-stra special with a visit to Milton Keynes Museum

Posted 5th April 2019

The hunt will be on at Milton Keynes Museum this Easter, as youngsters search for hidden eggs which lead the way to yummy chocolate rewards!

The museum’s egg hunt, a modern twist on the traditional search, is an egg-cellent way to celebrate the festive period – and ensures everyone wins something.

It’s good traditional family fun suitable for little chicks and older bunnies alike!

The egg hunt will run 11am daily from Good Friday to Easter Monday (April 19-22), but the Easter weekend is also choc-full of hands-on interaction too.

There will be drop in sessions for little folks to have a go at making their very own Victorian peg doll inspired ‘peek-a-boo’ clothespin eggs, and Easter bunny origami bookmarks.

Pop in between midday and 3pm on April 19 & 22.

More crafty fun is confirmed on April 20 & 21 with the opportunity to fashion Chick Planters, which can then be taken home. There are two sessions each day (Midday-12.45pm and 1.30pm-2.15pm).

Places must be pre-booked at the museum on the day.

A visit to the museum is also the perfect opportunity to check in with the many other attractions on site – see how people used to pick up their groceries with a walk along the street of shops, go back to school in the Victorian classroom, and learn how families used to amuse themselves pre-television, with parlour games you can play.

Pay a visit to the transport hall and be dazzled by everything from a precarious penny-farthing to a comfortable canal boat.

Experience public punishment in the stocks, learn the story of human communication at The Connected Earth gallery and much, much more.

Feeling peckish after so much fun? A trip to the Granary Cafe is a must-do, with a range of affordable hot and cold sweet and savoury snacks.

Give the family an Easter to remember – bring them to Milton Keynes Museum.

Standard admission prices apply – which will also give you FREE entry for the following 12 months when Gift Aid is given; adults £10, child £7, retired & unwaged £8.

A family ticket (admitting two adults and up to four children) is £30.
