Milton Keynes will officially begin its Christmas festivities this Saturday, 16 November, with its largest-ever Christmas Lights Switch-On event, taking place for the first time at the spacious car park adjacent to The Point. Organised by the MyMiltonKeynes Business Improvement District (MyMK BID), this year’s occasion promises an enhanced spectacle, featuring a star-studded programme, including popular social media personalities, local performers and a show-stopping finale.

Festivities will commence at 2 pm, with family attractions, including funfair rides and roaming entertainers to engage visitors upon arrival.

Hosting the main programme from 4 pm, celebrated magician and comedian David Allen – a Magic Circle member known for his appearances on ITV, BBC and the Discovery Channel – will bring his renowned charm and humour to the stage, promising to engage audiences throughout the event.

Performances will include seasonal renditions by the St Bernadette’s School Choir and the Milton Keynes Rock Choir, both set to bring festive spirit to the city centre. Directed by local pianist and singer Rob Baker, the Rock Choir, featuring more than 60 voices, is well-loved in the community for its powerful four-part harmony renditions of pop and rock classics. With a decade-long legacy in Milton Keynes, the choir is a fixture at local events and festivals.

With over 200,000 followers and two million likes online, Fulham’s act promises an engaging mix of stand-up and puppetry tailored for all ages.

Adding to the excitement, Milton Keynes teacher and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Mike Woodhams, famed for his skillful vocal impressions, will make a special appearance. Woodhams, who captured the hearts of viewers nationwide, will share the stage with Father Christmas himself for the official switching on of the city’s Christmas lights.

The relocation to a larger venue and an exceptional line-up reflect both the rising popularity of the event and MyMK BID’s commitment to establishing Milton Keynes as a vibrant city centre, ready to ring in the festive season with style. For more information, click here.
