Willen Hospice has opened a new charity shop in Oxley Park, giving residents in south-west Milton Keynes another way to support local hospice care while shopping sustainably.
The new outlet, located in Oxley Park local centre, officially opened on Thursday 5 February and offers a range of high-quality pre-loved clothing for men and women, alongside homewares. New stock will be added daily.
The shop forms part of Willen Hospice’s wider retail strategy, which aims to raise vital funds while strengthening links with local communities across Milton Keynes.
Ian Palmer, associate director of retail at Willen Hospice, said the new store had been designed to combine affordability with purpose.
“This shop brings something new to Oxley Park,” said Ian Palmer. “Every item sold helps fund the care that local families rely on. It’s a straightforward way for people to support their community while shopping sustainably.”
Willen Hospice provides specialist care and support to people affected by life-limiting illness across Milton Keynes. It costs the charity around £11 million each year to deliver its services, with just 12.7 per cent funded through the NHS. The remaining costs are met through fundraising, retail income and donations.
The hospice said income from the Oxley Park shop will directly support local care services, ensuring money raised within the community stays in Milton Keynes.
The shop is based on Redgrave Drive, with free parking available nearby. Opening hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
Willen Hospice is also recruiting volunteers to support the new store, offering opportunities for local people to contribute to the charity’s work while gaining retail experience.
