One month to go until MK’s biggest fundraising night-time event!

Posted 14th June 2023

There’s only one month to go until the Willen Hospice Midnight Moo, which takes place from Midsummer Place at 10pm on Friday 14th July.

The Midnight Moo, sponsored by Specsavers MK, sees local people walk a 5 or 10 mile route through Milton Keynes at night. With over 800 people already signed up, it promises to be a fantastic event, with an energetic party-atmosphere. The night begins with music, face painting and a warm up to create a real buzz before the countdown to 10pm begins. The theme for this year’s event is ‘City of Stars’ and walkers are encouraged to dress up in anything stars or sparkling, plus flashing accessories will also be available to purchase on the night.

This is a flagship event for Milton Keynes, with local companies and community groups sponsoring one of the 10 mile. Each of them are tasked with providing 20-40 volunteer marshals to line their miles, as well as fun surprises to celebrate the Moo walkers on their way round.

Nikki Poole, Community Fundraising and Events Manager said, “We are counting down the days until it’s time for the Midnight Moo. It’s one of our best-loved events and it’s always such a fantastic night – and morning! If you haven’t walked our Midnight Moo before I encourage you to sign up. We would love it if we could get to 1,000 people this year!”

Registration is £20 and includes a Midnight Moo 2023 t-shirt to walk in and a finisher’s medal. The charity kindly asks each walker to aim for £100 in sponsorship to support their vital work. A fundraising pack is included with the Midnight Moo t-shirt, which shares helpful tips and ideas.

Willen Hospice is the only adult Hospice in the local area. Every year the charity provides specialist palliative care to thousands of local families affected by a life-limiting illness. This is only possible thanks to the generosity and support of the local community.
