Slide into Christmas at Midsummer Place this season

Posted 10th November 2022

Countdown the magic of Christmas the stylish way and join Midsummer Place for a festive extravaganza this year, all starting with the MyMiltonKeynes Christmas Light Switch On on Saturday 12 November.

MyMiltonKeynes has announced they will be making this year a celebration to remember, as Milton Keyne’s first as a city! The afternoon-to-evening will include guest DJs, local dance groups, explosive fireworks and the Big Man himself, Father Christmas! The completely free event to attend is location outside near Hollister and is one the biggest family celebrations of the year.

Entertainment on the main stage starts from 4pm however we invite the public to join us for an exclusive performance from the Rebecca Marie Academy of Dance, where their students will put on a magical display of contemporary, street and ballet dances. This will begin at 3.30pm at Oak Court in Midsummer Place.

The Midsummer Place Christmas Tree Festival will be launching on Saturday 12 November also, featuring 20 trees sponsored by local businesses including the likes of Red Bull Technologies and multi award-winning Indian restaurant Maaya. Each tree will be decorated with battery-powered lights and decorations specifically selected or designed by the sponsors and charities. Shoppers will have the chance to choose their favourite trees and vote either online or in-centre and give the nominated charities a chance to win a share of the £2800 fundraising pot.

It’s time to climb, slide, scream, repeat. For the children, adults, and everyone in between, Midsummer Place will be host to a giant Helter Skelter measuring over 30ft in the Boulevard from 12 November – perfect for any family fun experience.

Great news for competition fans! On 1 December, the Midsummer Place Advent Calendar will launch. Every day until Christmas Eve – that’s 24 whole days of prizes -people can win the chance to open an advent door and scoop the prize! What’s on offer? Check out the Midsummer Place Facebook page to see and enter and – hopefully – win prizes from retailers, local businesses and more. From cosmetics to dining experiences, it’s a chance for the whole family to win so make sure to get online 1 December.

Across November Midsummer Place will also be host to The Walnuts Sixth Form enterprise group who will be selling a range of unique handmade plaques for the home at prices starting from £5.

Kirsty McGiff, Marketing Manager at Midsummer Place said: “We are so excited for the Christmas season to start here at Midsummer Place.
