There were smiles, cheers and even a few happy tears at Webber Independent School in Milton Keynes this morning, as pupils collected their GCSE results — with this year’s grades ranking among the school’s best ever.

The Class of 2025 achieved an impressive 45.7% of all grades at Grade 7 (A) or above, a figure Headmistress Hilary Marsden says reflects the pupils’ commitment and the dedication of staff and families.

“I am absolutely delighted that the determination, talent and resilience of our students — coupled with the support of our teachers and families — has been rewarded with such outstanding results,” she said. “Every single student should be immensely proud. These grades are the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance and a genuine love of learning. Today is their day to celebrate.”

Mrs Marsden also praised the wider contribution of pupils beyond the classroom:
“At Webber, we pride ourselves on more than just strong academic outcomes. We are a community that nurtures every young person as an individual, helping them to grow in confidence, curiosity and character. This year’s Year 11 have not only excelled in their studies, but also stepped into leadership roles, supported one another, and embraced opportunities in sport, music, drama and community service. Their achievements go far beyond exam certificates.”

This year’s leavers will now move on to selective Sixth Forms, specialist training programmes and competitive apprenticeships, with the school confident that they carry with them the values and self-belief to thrive in the next stage of their education.
