Willen Hospice has announced the opening of four new retail shops across Milton Keynes this autumn — a major step towards sustaining its vital care services for local people.

Designed with a fresh, modern feel, each shop will offer a curated selection of pre-loved fashion, homewares and stylish accessories. Beyond providing a unique shopping experience, these new stores will play a crucial role in raising funds to support expert, compassionate care for people living with a life-limiting illness.

Running Willen Hospice and its care services costs £11 million a year, with just 12.7% of that funded by the NHS. Income from the Hospice’s retail network remains one of its most dependable and essential sources of funding, directly supporting the continuation of free, specialist care for patients and families across Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. Every new shop represents a long-term investment in the future of local hospice care, helping to ensure these services can continue for years to come.

The new shops will open in Brooklands, Oxley Park, Stacey Bushes, and at a larger premises on the high street in Stony Stratford. The existing Stony Stratford shop will be transformed into a Christmas pop-up, offering festive decorations, gifts and stocking fillers. The brand-new Stony Stratford shop officially opened on Friday 7 November, with the Christmas pop-up following shortly after.

For the latest updates on opening dates and events, supporters are encouraged to follow Willen Hospice on social media.

Ian Palmer, Associate Director of Retail at Willen Hospice, said: “We’re so proud to be opening four new shops this autumn. Our retail network is a lifeline that helps keep our Hospice running. Whether you shop, donate or volunteer, you’re helping us continue to deliver high-quality, personalised care to people in our community at one of the most difficult times in their lives.”

Willen Hospice is also inviting local people to get involved by volunteering at the new shops. Roles include serving customers, creating eye-catching displays and sorting through donated items. Even a few hours a week can make a meaningful difference — offering volunteers the chance to develop new skills, meet people, and be part of something truly rewarding.

Those interested in volunteering can call 01908 306998 or visit willen-hospice.org.uk/volunteer-in-retail.

The opening of these four new shops represents more than just retail growth — it’s an opportunity for the Milton Keynes community to come together in support of local hospice care. Every item donated, every purchase made, and every hour volunteered helps Willen Hospice continue its mission to provide exceptional palliative and end-of-life care where and when it’s needed most.
