Willen Hospice launches first ever Teddy Bear Hunt
Posted 11th March 2021Twenty sneaky teddy bears will be hiding around Willen Lake over the Easter school holiday – and Willen Hospice needs the help of local families to find them!
The fundraising event costs just £5 for the whole family, and can be completed anytime between 29 March – 11 April. Sign up includes a Teddy Bear pack containing a children’s colouring in sheet, sponsorship form, recipe for teddy bear biscuits, and of course, a list of clues!
Once families have found their ‘bearings’, they need to read the first clue which will lead them to bear #1. Once the bear had been found, they will need to write his or her name down and answer the Teddy Bear trivia question before moving on to the next clue. Keep going until all twenty bears have been found!
Tracey Jago, Willen Hospice Events Manager, said: “Our Teddy Bear Hunt will be un-bear-ably fun, and a great way to get the kids out and about after three months of lockdown. We’ve had to find new ways to fundraise during the pandemic, and we think this is a really great way to give the community something fun to do, while raising vital funds. Our work has never been more important, and every penny raised will help us to continue caring for poorly people, and support their families, now and in the future.”
There are also fantastic prize bundles up for grabs. Entry includes one free ticket for the prize draw, but extra tickets can be purchased when booking. The six prize bundles are for ages 0 – 7+, and include craft kits, games and toys.
The Government’s Rule of Six outdoors will be in place during this event, but event organisers are reminding participants that they must adhere to social distancing guidance during their hunt.
Willen Hospice needs to raise £4.7M every year, which has become increasingly challenging due to the pandemic. Events like the Teddy Bear Hunt are a great way to support the local Hospice and have fun at the same time.
