Three of the country’s top comedians are heading to Maaya Indian Kitchen & Bar on Thursday 20 July for a night of comedy and curry. New Details Announced for Willen Lake’s Splash ‘n’ Play
Willen Lake, Milton Keynes’ most popular park, is excited to announce the latest details about its new splash park, Splash ‘n’ Play. Splash ‘n’ Play is due to open on Saturday 15th July 2017, in time for the summer holidays. It will cover 1000m², making it one of the UK’s largest outdoor splash parks, and considerably bigger than others in the local area. Colourful, Vibrant and Engaging: An MK50 Festival to Remember
This weekend, more than 100,000 people visited Middleton Hall in centre:mk to take part in Milton Keynes College’s Festival in the City. Showcasing the sheer talent of the students and the quality of teaching at MK College, the festival brought excitement and entertainment to the region’s leading shopping centre. With live cooking competitions, music, a fashion show and art exhibitions there really was something for everyone at this year’s event. The current trend of mindful colouring was just one of the interactive activities that visitors were invited to take part in, with the chance for people to win centre:mk vouchers by completing the Festival in the City Colouring Competition. Milton Keynes raises flag for Armed Forces Day
Milton Keynes Council raised the Armed Forces Day Flag outside the Civic Offices of Milton Keynes Council yesterday. The ceremony took place as part of a nation-wide celebration of Armed Forces Day. The Mayor of Milton Keynes Cllr David Hopkins, Council Leader Cllr Pete Marland, and Chief Executive of Milton Keynes Council, Carole Mills were joined by veterans, Lord Lieutenant of Bucks and IV Regiment, Royal Logistics Corp, 678 Rifles Squadron, Royal British Legion and Cadets at today’s Armed Forces Flag Raising Ceremony. Pupils from Southwood School, Germander Park School and Premier Academy School also attended to sing “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary”, “Keep the Home Fires Burning”, and “We’ll meet again” The ceremony began with a march past the Civic Offices by the Royal Logistics Corp, 678 Rifles Squadron towards the seated crowd in front of the flag. Cycle4MK50 has organised a thrilling five mile bike ride led by qualified cycle leaders on Sunday 11 June at Furzton Lake, gearing up at 11.30am. Mayor in flag-raising salute to our Armed Forces
The Mayor of Milton Keynes Cllr David Hopkins will start Armed Forces Week with a flag-raising ceremony on Monday 19 June outside the Civic Offices of Milton Keynes Council. Our commemoration will begin at 09:30 with a march past and a small display of military vehicles, including a military field kitchen from which tea, coffee, squash and snacks will be available for a small cost to the Royal British Legion.
