Discover the great outdoors in our green city: it’s the MK Festival of Nature!

Explore the great outdoors with the MK Festival of Nature which takes place in parts of the city you might have never explored before. This nine-day festival runs from Saturday 29th June to Sunday 7th July 2019 and is your opportunity to discover and celebrate the diverse and inspiring nature we have in Milton Keynes.

The MK Festival of Nature is fun for everyone with a range of activities happening across the nine days. From guided bird walks and late-night bat walks to bug hunting and a talk from TV presenter Nick Baker, there’s something for everyone.

The Festival kicks off with Get intu Nature at intu Milton Keynes on Saturday 29 June, where you can join the Wildlife Trust for an arts and nature crafts session. During this event you’ll also be able to meet the latest edition to The Parks Trust team our mascot Quilbert the hedgehog! Plus, pick up a copy of the MK festival of Nature programme so you’ll be able to find out what events are coming up!

Join Nick Baker, the professional naturalist and TV presenter, for his unforgettable evening, Return to Nature. Nick will describe the art of returning to nature and how to get back in touch with our ‘wild sense’. This talk will inspire all ages to strip life back to the essentials from time to time and truly connect with the natural world around us. This event takes place on Thursday 4th July at The Venue, Milton Keynes.

If you have children aged between 11-15 years old, then Teens Go Wild is the event for you. Your Teen will enjoy an evening of nature adventure, including animal tracking, pond dipping and bird watching and much more. Plus, all of this is topped off with a hot drink and some toasted marshmallows around the fire pit!
Teens Go Wild at Linford Lakes Nature Reserve will take place on Thursday 4th July from 7pm.

This year’s Nature Day will be held on Saturday 6th July at Howe Park Wood from 11am to 4pm. A free family fun day with a variety of activities and crafts, guided walks and stalls all dedicated to nature.
