If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to dig out the face paint, dress the kids up, and make a bit of a joyful racket, Willen Hospice has you covered. Not once, but twice this September.

First on the calendar is the Mini Moo on Sunday 14 September, starting from the Hospice at Willen Lake. Sponsored by Brioche Pasquier UK (yes, the brioche people—don’t pretend you haven’t snuck a pain au chocolat from the pack), this one is all about little legs doing big things.

Picture it: herds of children, kitted out in fancy dress, scooting, skipping, running, or walking one sponsored lap of Willen’s North Lake. There’s a group warm-up (to shake off the morning cobwebs) before the 10.30am start, and the aim is simple—each “Mini-Mooer” is raising £78 for their local hospice. Open to ages 0–14, entry is £15, and it’s bookable online right now.

And just when you’ve caught your breath? Willen Hospice bounces back the following weekend with a Gulliver’s Land Theme Park Resort takeover on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September. Expect more than just rollercoasters—there’ll be stalls, games, face painting and plenty of family-friendly entertainment, all with Willen at its heart. Early bird tickets (£17) may have disappeared already, but discounted entry is still up for grabs from £18 per person, with £2.50 from every ticket helping the Hospice.

Nikki Poole, Willen’s Events & Community Fundraising Manager, puts it best: “This September, local families can help other families in need while making memories together. We need to raise £8.7 million every year, which is a huge amount for a charity of our size. We encourage families to come along and put the ‘fun’ into fundraising for their local Hospice.”

And here’s the bit that makes your fundraising efforts hit home. Willen might be an adult hospice, but its care reaches far beyond. Their Social Care and Art Therapy teams walk alongside children and young people navigating grief—helping them talk about their feelings, process their worries, and create memory keepsakes to treasure for years to come. It’s about holding families steady when the ground feels unsteady.

So—two weekends, two events, one big-hearted cause. Whether you’ve got a Mini Moo-er ready to dash around the lake or kids keen for a rollercoaster with a side of face paint, this September is your chance to make memories and make a difference.
