You can practically feel the buzz already, can’t you? Milton Keynes City Centre is putting on its sparkliest outfit this Saturday, 22 November, as the annual Christmas lights switch-on returns — and the full line-up is now set in stone.

It’s all happening in The Point car park, where the free outdoor party will unfold across the afternoon. Think live music, dance, a bit of cheeky comedy and that warm community hum you only get when the whole city shows up for something magical. And yes — it all ends with fireworks. Big ones. The kind that make you grin like a kid again.

A Festive Afternoon Begins

From 3pm, expect to spot comedy elves weaving their way through the crowd — the sort of chaotic good energy that keeps everyone giggling while they wait for the main show.

Then at 4pm, internationally recognised magician and returning host David Allen steps onto the stage, ready to welcome you in and get the good vibes flowing.

Local Talent Takes the Spotlight

First up are the children of Christ the Sower Primary School, kicking things off with all the charm and infectious enthusiasm you’d hope for.

They’re followed by Arts1 — and if you’ve seen them before, you know you’re in for something special. This year, it’s a Frozen medley (cue the tiny fans belting along) plus a tap-dance burst inspired by Elf.

Local singer Ollie Corbett will be bringing smooth jazz and swing to the stage, easing everyone deeper into the festive mood before the ever-popular Milton Keynes Rock Choir steps up for their feelgood set.

A Very MK Countdown

The Evil Ringmaster from Milton Keynes Theatre’s pantomime Goldilocks & the Three Bears will drop by for a chat, stirring up that classic panto mischief just before the big moment.

And at around 5.20pm? Father Christmas himself arrives for the official countdown. Together, they’ll light up Central Milton Keynes — from Midsummer Boulevard and Midsummer Place to 12th Street and the brand-new Christmas tree outside Milton Keynes Theatre and MK Gallery. Every twinkle funded by city centre businesses (a lovely little reminder of how invested this community truly is).

Fireworks to Finish

Once the lights are shining, the sky gets its turn — with a huge fireworks display marking the official start of the festive season in Milton Keynes.

So wrap up warm, grab your people, and step straight into the glow. Christmas starts here.
