If you thought Halloween was all tricks and no treats, think again — because Midsummer Place has brewed up a week of spook-tacular fun that’ll have your little monsters howling with delight. From potion-making to petrifying performances (and a few furry surprises along the way), the shopping centre is turning into a playground of all things magical and mysterious this October half term — and the best part? Every single activity is free. No booking. No hassle. Just pure Halloween happiness.

A Purr-fect Halloween Hunt

️‍♀️ 25–31 October

The centre’s mischievous black cats are on the loose again — and it’s your job to find them! Between 25 and 31 October, families can follow the clues and hunt down the escaped felines hidden around Midsummer Place. Catch them all, and you could be in with a chance to win one of seven £25 vouchers (that’s a treat worth hunting for). Keep those eyes peeled though — these cats are fur-tunately good at hiding.

Witchy Wednesday Potion Making

Wednesday 29 October, 11am–4pm

Double, double, toil and trouble… this one’s for the budding witches and wizards! Head to the bandstand for a magical hands-on potion-making workshop where little spell-casters can whip up their very own glittering brews. Expect sparkles, spells, and plenty of giggles — no prior witchcraft experience required.

Halloween Fun Fest — Thursday 31 October

11am–4pm

If you’re planning just one big day out, make it this one. The centre’s gearing up for a fang-tastic finale that’s all about fun, frights, and a good dose of face paint.

First up, the frightfully talented face painters will be transforming visitors into sparkly skeletons, ghostly ghouls, or batty vampires — whatever your Halloween alter-ego, they’ve got you covered (in paint, that is).

Then, things get groovy with Horizon Radio’s very own Disco Dracula. Yes, the Count himself will be swooping into Midsummer Place for a full day of dancing, sweet treats, and blood-curdling beats that’ll get your heart thumping faster than you can say “boo!”.

And keep your wits about you — there’ll be wandering ghouls haunting the walkways all week, perfect for eerie encounters and boo-tiful selfies.

A Week to Creep It Real

“Halloween is one of our favourite times of the year,” says Kirsty McGiff, Marketing and Commercialisation Manager at Midsummer Place. “We can’t wait to welcome families for a week filled with fun, frights, and plenty of treats! Whether it’s mixing up a magical potion, spotting our hidden black cats, or joining Dracula on the dancefloor, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We’re encouraging everyone to come along in costume and make it a Halloween to remember.”

So go on — grab your broomsticks, dust off your capes, and make your way to Midsummer Place for a monster mash like no other. With spooky surprises around every corner, it’s the perfect place to creep it real this Halloween.
