Summer Fun at Green Dragon

The Animal Encounters Programme for this summer will be all the more exciting with the opening of the new Wildlife Zone. There will also be competitions and quiz trails, farm & nature trails, indoor and outdoor play, and farm to fork menus in the cafés. 

New Wildlife Zone Opens!

1st August 2018

The Wildlife Zone will be welcoming summer holiday visitors from August 1^st 2018, after a busy four months of preparations that included creating the huge enclosures, animal shelters and the central indoor display.

The animal encounters programme will include the new wildlife, allowing visitors to get close to animals, such as the golden eagle, reindeer, fox, ravens, red squirrels, barn and tawny owls. This is an exciting addition to an already popular visitor destination in north Buckinghamshire.

Exclusive Animal Encounters

As well as the Farmer for a Day experience, always popular during the school holidays, there will be Ranger for a Day experiences with the opening of the Wildlife Zone.  Tailor-made to suit visitors of seven years and above, these private sessions enable visitors to enjoy a unique hands-on learning experience that’s such fun as well.

Farm to Fork

In its two cafés, Green Dragon serves freshly prepared, seasonal food that is sourced locally and home-reared or home-grown wherever possible. All their meat goes to supply their menus and is very popular with visitors who can learn more about its production by following the Farm to Fork Trail.

Depending on the time of year, there is Dexter beef, lamb and pork from the rare breeds, and fruit and veg from the garden and orchards. The free-range chickens produce the eggs. There are menus for adults and children in both cafés, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.

The Barn Café, in the soft play, is open all year round and, during the school summer holidays, the Eco Centre café will be open, serving breakfast and pizzas that are woodfired outside by the pond. They are really popular as they are freshly made and great value for money with a variety of delicious toppings to choose from.
