Willen Hospice Invites Milton Keynes to Join ‘Blue Week’ Fundraiser, September 18-24
Posted 10th September 2023Milton Keynes residents, it’s time to show you’re blue! Join the efforts to support Willen Hospice by organising or participating in exciting fundraising events from September 18 to 24. Whether it’s a bake sale, quiz night, or even a themed dress-up day at work, there’s a way for everyone to contribute.
Schools, community groups, and local businesses – all are invited to join in the fun. Ready-made resources to assist you are available for download on the Willen Hospice website.
Nikki Poole, the Community & Events Fundraising Manager, shares, “Through ‘Blue Week,’ you have a wonderful opportunity to bolster Willen Hospice’s mission. As a charitable institution, we offer end-of-life care and wholehearted support to those grappling with life-limiting ailments, and to their dear ones. Even a simple gesture, like hosting a raffle or bake sale, plays a huge role in ensuring we’re there when needed most.”
Nigel Birch, the Commercial Manager, adds, “Local businesses, be it international giants or budding startups, have a splendid chance to back Willen Hospice during ‘Blue Week’. Not only is it an excellent initiative for a noble cause, but it also boosts team spirit and camaraderie.”
Every year, the team at Willen Hospice offers their care to 15 in-patients and serves over 300 community members via their Willen at Home initiative. Remarkably, only 17% of their funds come from the NHS. This underscores the importance of community support in raising the £6 million needed annually.
