Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival – Saturday, 6th July 2024 – Last Chance to Enter!

The Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival is returning on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, and if you haven’t secured your spot yet, now is the time! With over 25 teams already signed up, there are still some spots available. Supported by MKFM, Business MK, and MK Pulse Magazine, and in aid of Brain Tumour Research, this festival will take place at the picturesque Willen Lake on 6th July 2024. It promises to be a highlight on the regional events calendar.

This festival brings together a vibrant mix of new and returning crews, all eager to enjoy a memorable day with colleagues and friends while making a positive impact in their community. This year, teams have the chance to fundraise for Brain Tumour Research, ensuring that this charitable organisation benefits from the festival’s success. There are also gold and silver entry options available, offering marketing benefits and substantial donations to charities. Notable gold entries include Genesis Cancer Care UK Ltd, Kirkby Diamond LLP, MK Loft Boarding, SMC Corporation UK Ltd (three teams), SOL Services, and TSYS. The silver entry includes Opus Reconstructing LLP.

Alicja Mierzejewska, Executive Director at NewWave Events, expressed her excitement for the upcoming festival, stating, “We’re thrilled to host the festival once again. Participating in the dragon boat racing and fundraising for charity requires no prior experience, just a strong sense of teamwork and enthusiasm. Dragon boats, qualified helms, and all racing equipment will be provided, and each crew is guaranteed a minimum of three races. In addition to medals and trophies for the top-performing crews, special prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed crew and the crew raising the most funds for their chosen charity. Funstation UK is also providing a prize for the top fundraisers.

In addition to the thrilling races happening every 10 minutes from 10 am to 4 pm, spectators can enjoy a variety of entertaining activities along the banks of Willen Lake. From funfair rides and face painters to captivating Chinese Lion Dances, there will be no shortage of excitement. Food stalls will also be available to satisfy culinary cravings. Bring your friends and family to Willen Lake on July 6th to witness over 25 local companies battling it out in the vibrant 30-foot-long dragon boats!
